About

A picture of me in the Austrian alps

Hey! Welcome to my website.

I currently work as a full-stack developer at Stickee Technology, where we work on special projects for our big data clients. I build performant, test-driven, and maintainable experiences for the web and beyond, maintain and extend our internal tooling, fix bugs and add features, and get a real kick out of seeing the eyes of our partners light up when things just work.

Mental health awareness and suicide intervention are causes close to my heart, and as such I volunteer a great deal of time in the Nightline Association software development team. There I work on the technology needed to ensure students across the UK have someone to talk to in an anonymous and judgement-free setting.

I’ve been writing code all my life, but only developed a serious interest at school, building websites with cobbled together PHP and HTML, and basic Windows applications in Visual Basic. I trained to be a teacher after graduating and taught in a top state school in the country before I decided that problem-solving and creativity in software development were where my true passions lay.

I have a couple of side projects in the works, the most notable of which is the game studio that I started during the pandemic, Petrobolos. It’s a slow burner that I contribute to when time permits!

When not at the computer, I’m a voracious reader, enjoy collecting and watching movies or TV programmes on 4K Blu-Ray, expanding my German vocabulary, and deepening my understanding of Orthodox Christianity.

If you want to learn more or are interested perhaps in working together, I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a message, or reach out on LinkedIn.

Social media

I don’t use any public-facing social media accounts any longer – sorry! I simply don’t think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks at this time.
